Mentawai Boat Trip - Is there anything better than surfing perfect waves and enjoying cold beers with a bunch of mates in paradise on your annual Mentawai surf trip?
Not much comes close except of course your wedding day and the birth of your children, really.
Anyway, just like so many of our clients
do each year, I make sure that my friends and I enjoy at least one
yearly surf trip to one of our favourite destinations just to go
surfing. Now, since we have been doing this for years, you would imagine
we would have had the odd trip where we didn’t score epic waves?
Wrong, touch wood. We have always scored!
It isn’t just the waves that make for an epic Mentawai surf trip.
Whilst the surf is always the number one priority, the camaraderie and
mateship with a group of guys that are away from everything including
families, business and real work is something to behold.
Men become boys again. Not only do you start acting like a boy, but you feel like one again.
We are so fortunate to be able to do these trips. I believe that any surfer in the world should aim to do it – girls included.
In closing I will say: The one thing
that has stuck out for me after organising and leading so many trips
over the years, is that the people that go with a true appreciation for
what they are doing, always have an amazing trip.
So get out there and live the dream.
